This time of year brings the pumpkin recipes to the Dingman household. We wanted to share our favorites with you. All of the recipes use Libby’s Easy Pumpkin Pie mix. This is different than the packed pumpkin because it is already sweetened and is ready to use.
Pumpkin cookies- Make any packaged sugar cookies according to directions. Use a table spoon to scoop the right amount. Press down with thumb as to make thumbprint cookies. Add a dab of pumpkin mixture to the top and bake as the recipe calls for.
Pumpkin Pancakes- Make your favorite pancake according to directions and top with pumpkin mix instead of syrup.
Pumpkin cereal- Make your favorite hot cereal according to directions. Ours is Cream of Wheat. Top with pumpkin mix and it is like eating pumpkin pie for breakfast.
Pumpkin Toast- Make some toast and add pumpkin mix instead of butter.
We hope you enjoy these pumpkin tips as much as we do……………

One of my favorite things about fourth of July is breakfast. I mean really, most people start the fourth of July at noon or later but I like starting right when we get up with breakfast. The kids love the fact that they are having something fun and memorable and I like that all it takes to make their day is a bit of food coloring. I recommend using bakers food coloring but any thing in the cupboard will do. Another great item to have handy is red white and blue cake sprinkles, with all kinds of fun designs your kid’s will be sure to smile!

Pancakes and waffles are the kids all time favorite. Make according to directions and then separate into 3 bowls. Cook one bowl of batter just like normal, that will be your white. Add red food coloring to a bowl and blue to the other and cook. When serving, place a red white and blue pancake or waffle on the plate and your kids will wow and awe at you for weeks! Want to really wow them? Add a bit of whipped cream and some sprinkles!
Hot cereal is another hit around here. Our favorite is Cream of Wheat, but any ole hot cereal will do. When your done preparing according to directions, add those sprinkles and when they get mixed in, the cereal changes color
Blueberry yogurt topped with strawberries is a side dish hit.
Finally, Boo Berry cereal seems to work on those who really love their cold cereal.
So go get some sprinkles and food coloring and make magic with your Fourth of July morning celebration!
